Who Is A 360 Comms Review For?
When you are a leader, very few people are going to tell you your emails suck, or your pep talk was uninspiring, or nobody understands your presentations.
That role is best served by an outsider who is not afraid to tell you what they see and help to implement effective ways to improve your performance.
A Comms 360 review is for business leaders who understand that continuous improvement in communication skills contributes to their ongoing professional development. It positions you for success in increasingly complex and dynamic business environments.
This kind of deep dive also provides a fresh pair of eyes to look at the challenges you face and gives you a confidential safe space where you can reflect on your leadership role.
What is The Process Like?
Once we have taken the decision to work together, we start with a wide-ranging chat for 60 to 90 minutes. It covers areas like your personal and business life, your experience, your values, your ambitions and, perhaps most importantly, the things that keep you awake at night. Of course, we will also discuss the communication areas you want to focus on reviewing
Based on this you will receive a bespoke action plan to negotiate / sign off on. This plan will include benchmarks, milestones and targets to help keep us on track.
Situations and priorities change so, of course, the plan is not set in stone.
Expect regular iterations along the way.

3. Will you help me to write communications?
While initially I will be happy to take on a ‘script doctor’ role for areas that need a lot of improvement, my aim is to train you as we work together so that, over time, you become more autonomous and need my help less and less.
4. As a leader I feel pressured to appear in videos but I'm too nervous. Can you help me with this?
Definitely.
One of the problems with the fear of doing videos is the perception people have of what a video is. It doesn’t have to be a 25-minute talk on a big stage. It’s possible to make a short, effective video where you only need to do three or four 10-second chunks to camera.
With a few hours’ training and practice you can easily master this format.
5. What if English is not my first language?
I have more than 20 years’ experience as an EFL (English as a Foreign Language) and ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language) lecturer. I have taught public speaking skills to school children, university students and business people from all around the world so I understand different cultural approaches to public speaking.

About Me
I worked in a wide variety of jobs (including marketing and finance) before moving into the education sector. I started out as an English language teacher but branched out into a wide variety of activities – CV trainer, Cambridge examiner, teacher trainer for major international organisations such as the British Council, Cambridge University Press and Oxford University Press, ghostwriter, speechwriter, blogger, video maker, spoof website builder, education consultant.
But the one thing I always enjoyed the most was helping people to improve their communication and public speaking skills and, as so many of the people I was working with were foreigners, it also led me into the area of intercultural communication.
Which is why I am here – to help you, wherever you are from in the world, whichever language you speak, to communicate more effectively and have a more successful and fulfilling life.
